Abstract

The lecture is devoted to the concept of patrimonialism by Max Weber and its influence on the concepts of neopatrimonialism (sultanism). The main argument is that neopatrimonial political regimes are more susceptible to breakdown than another types of authoritatives regimes.

The argument is ilustrated by case study of iran islamic revolution (1979)
