Abstract
The chapter deals with cases in which two or more speakers speak simultaneously. These situations commonly occur in informal spontaneous conversation and are called speech overlaps.
The chapter briefly summarizes the current research on this phenomenon, including its conception among the speakers themselves, and then shows, with the help of the analysis of real spoken communication, in which places in the conversation there are.
