Editor's introduction to the Czech translation of the inaugural lecture entitled "The actor between dispositions and contexts of action", given by French sociologist Bernard Lahire at Charles University in Prague on the occassion of the launch event of Platform CEFRES, a joint project of Centre français de recherche en sciences sociales (CEFRES), Charles University and Czech Academy of Sciences.
