The review study focuses on the conception of Don Giovanni and Faust in Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit as captured by Jakub Marek in his monograph Leporello. Mortality, Labor and Human Unnaturalness.
On this background, the author of the review comments on the transformation of the ethical world-view in both modern philosophy and society. In this context, the author emphasizes the centrality of labor - once again - from both the perspective of modern philosophy and society.
The author of the review criticizes Marek's conception of the understanding of philosophy in Hegel's work: She argues that Marek has not sufficiently taken into regard Hegel's original conception of individuality.
