The valleys of the Kugitang piedmont (Sherabad District, Surkhandarya Province, Uzbekistan) have been investigated by Czech-Uzbekistani expedition since 2011. During last three years, hundreds of stone features were detected and preliminarily interpreted as kurgans (burial mounds), however the purpose of these features remains still unclear.
Starting in season 2017, these kurgans are being examined in more detail. This report presents current results of the field survey, morphological description and brief spatial analysis of the objects within clusters, and the clusters themselves within the surrounding landscape.
