This editorial brings a brief summary of the national activities of the Czech Pneumological and Phthisiological Society in the field of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in 2017. The main topics include the organization of a second national conference on updating the Czech COPD recommendations in term of diagnosis and therapy.
At the same time, a new screening program will be launched to diagnose undiagnosed cases of alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency.
