Abstract

PC alorithms are increasingly used in online trading and there is already a practical experience that they are able to streamline prices and push them up. The issue is that they can do it on their own without intervention of any legal subject that can be held responsible for such an anti-competitive behaviour.

This represents a new challenge for competitiion law and this challenge would become even more pressing with the develompent and employment of artificial intelligence in trading. The paper deals with problems of current law of competition in this field and discusses also its likely future developments.
