The aim of the paper is to reflect on potential abuses of sociál assistance by Union citizens residing within the territory of another Member State than their national State. Such reflection is of great importance as the fundamental right of freedom of movement of persons has been put into question by some Members States of the EU regarding this particular question.
Indeed, the granting of sociál benefits is certainly a politically highly sensitive question as current public debates on abuses of sociál assistance or on limitation of access to sociál assistance show it clearly.
