Abstract

The school and the teacher profession in the context of growing demands for education deals with changes in the educational fields of particular school grades. This publication specifically discusses the changes in the conception and the concept of Physical Education at the 1st grade of primary school.

The objective is to formulate practical possibilities of teaching in the field of Physical Education at the first grade of primary school in contemporary context, which take into account the benefits of physical activity in the current way of pupils life and respond to detected issues. Education of PE teachers and subsequently teaching physical education often lacks emphasizing health importance of physical activities not only in the physical, but also mental and social fields.

Practice in teaching physical education does not emphasizes sufficiently the role of knowledge in the process of education and difficulties in searching ways in the learning on lifelong activity. The focus of the publication is, therefore, the application of the "Framework Educational Programme" for primary education to the reality of school Physical Education.

The publication points to modern didactic methods, which are based on personal activity of pupils. It provides examples of how to support pupils key competences by means of physical activities and clarifies generally formulated curriculum of Physical Education.

The publication is intended for students of teaching at the 1st grade of primary school and for beginning teachers, to help them in the orientation and work with the "Framework Educational Programme", and how to optimally fulfill its area "Humans and Health - Physical Education".
