Abstract

This study evaluates the efficacy of treatment of progressive keratoconus using Accelerated Corneal Collagen cross-linking (ACXL) method. Patients underwent ACXL at the Dept. of Ophthalmology of University Hospital in Hradec Králové between 2012 - 2013.

Uncorrected distance visual acuity, best corrected distance visual acuity, keratometry (K1, K2, Kmax), corneal astigmatism and corneal pachymetry were measured preoperatively and in 6 months, 1year, 2 and 3 years after the surgery. The results were statistically analyzed by non-parametric Wilcoxon test.

There were found statistically significant changes in K2 values and values of corneal thickness postoperatively.
