Chronic kidney disease in children

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) in children represents a significant heath burden. The most common etiology in children includes congenital anomalies of the kidneys and urinary tract, followed by chronic glomerulonephritis and cystic kidney disease.

A correct early diagnosis and adequate management are the main tasks for a treating psysician. This review summarises the current view on CKD in children.
