Inflammatory cardiomyopathy (ZKMP) is a subtype of dilatation cardiomyopathy associated with chronic myocarditis. A wide range of infectious or non-infectious causes are used in the aetiology of this disease.
The magnetic resonance of the heart and endomyocardial biopsy are of major importance in the diagnosis of ZKMP. For some forms of ZKMP, specific disease therapies, which include immunosuppressive and antimicrobial therapy, are possible.
