Could pregabaline be effective medication in treatment of depressive disorder?

Abstract

Pregabalin belongs to a group of antiepileptics and it is indicated for the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder and neuropaticpain. Although the antidepressant effect of pregabalin has not been proven, pregabalin can positively affect the mood of patientswith pain syndromes of various etiologies.

Two case studies of pregabalin treatment in patients with depressive symptomatologyare described in this article.
