Abstract

The incidence of the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is increasing all over the world. Experts are interested in this diagnosis especially for its effects on health and negative economic outcomes.

Due to expanding knowledge in medicine the classical surgery is to a large extend focused on mini invasive procedures. In the field of emphysema, the procedures are to a considerable degree shifting from surgical to endoscopic treatment.

Many recent studies document its positive impact not only on functional parameters of the lungs, but also on the level of physical performance. An important area in complex therapy is the possibility of supporting the final profile reached by this procedure with the physiotherapy.
