Abstract

The subject of this Arcticle are chroniclers of 13th and 14th Century - Chronicle of Otokar of Styria and World Chronicle of Jans Enikel. These sources seems similar to each other, e.g. due to poetic form, Middle High German language and a similar social position of chroniclers.

We can find different models of a royal odeal in both of the sources. Many rulers are mentioned in the Chronicle of Otokar of Styria (e.g.

Rudolf I. of Habsburg, Ottokar II. of Bohemia). For example, in The World Chronicle of Jans Enikel are presented biblical king David, ancient hero Alexander the Great or early medieval Charlemagne.
