Abstract
Scenic Roads and Their Transformation: Examples from the USA and Germany. Scenic roads stand out for the attractive landscapes that surround them or because of the way they connect cultural or historical destinations.
The purpose behind their existence is to provide a visual experience and recognition. Scenic roads became popular in the USA; now, they can be found throughout the world.
This article describes the development and variety of scenic roads with examples from two countries that stand out in this regard - the USA and Germany.
