Abstract

Freediving is a sport-recreational activity, which became popular. There is an increasing number fo people who are involved into this nice activity.

Freediving requires good health, high level of the fitness, systematic training and absolute adherence to safety rules. When these conditions are met this activity is safe and brings a lot of positive to its participants.

Essential prerequisites include good health and fitness of the diver, experience gained trough regular training. The aim of the review is to describe some of the basic pathophysilogical processes that occur during inspirational diving and the conditions that may occur during apnea diving.
