Abstract

The contribution describes the polemic between Milan Kundera and Václav Havel from the end of sixties. Questions about the role of Czech nation in a history, the position of a small nation between big nations, the importance of Prague Spring 1968 and others are compared with the ideas of Jan Patočka, Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk and Josef Pekař in the same topics.
