Insulin sensitivity as an important factor in insulin therapy strategy

Abstract

Reduced peripheral and central sensitivity to insulin is primarily due to genetics. The metabolic manifestation is the pathological use of glucose as the primary energy source for the organism.

The term metabolic syndrome expresses the clinical manifestations of this disorder. If a genetically-labeled beta-cell function is also present, a deterioration of age-related glucose homeostasis may occur.

This factor is unaffected, but a number of other risk factors are known to affect it. Currently, we are aware of today's unviable or just difficult to influence factors.
