Through the villages, through the times. Archaeological survey in the oases in South Uzbekistan

Abstrakt

The paper focused on the evaluation of the archaeological survey in the oases in the Kugitang Piedmont (South Uzbekistan). The field survey had been conducted during three seasons (2015-2016) in areas of five oases (Zarabag, Karabag, Kampyrtepa, Maydon, Gaz).

We paid attention to the archaeological finds and their spatial distribution. Base on that we can reconstruct the settlement dynamic in the individual oases and also in the wider context of the landscape of the Kugitang Piedmont.
