Abstrakt
The communication focuses on the problem of cultural translation used by Pirandello in his project to translate the Sicilian reality for the Italian public. Presenting the synthesis of the development of the author's relationship with the literature in dialect, we arrive at his famous defense of the authors of the style of things, that is, those who "create the region".
On the concrete example of the novella and the single act The license demonstrates the way in which Pirandello creates the region and the mechanisms used by him to avoid stereotyped images or clichés. The short final note is dedicated to some fundamental problems that arose during the translation of the single act The license in Czech.
