Abstract
The "Domácnost" (Czech for "household") Prague society was a school that existed for more than fifty years. At the same time, it was a cultural, educational and charitable facility and a pleasant place where people could meet over delicious meals.
Leaving certificates given to women who attended cookery courses allowed their holders to find jobs in the field and the school thus contributed to emancipation.
