Abstract

The authors characterise the profession of a teaching assistant, emphasizing its conception in the current system of support measures for the education of students with special educational needs in the Czech Republic. The article also deals with the issue of indirect pedagogical activities of teaching assistants.

The authors present selected data from a research study focused on the profession of teaching assistants in primary and lower secondary mainstream schools.
