Abstract
The text introduces the conference section "Art history and secret sciences". Esoteric interpretation frameworks are used by art historians of various specialisations.
They can be applied to art from antiquity to the present. Moreover, experts in Mannerism and art of the turn of the 20th century prioritize them.
However, the papers presented here have focused rather on the interesting theoretical and methodological aspects of the relationship of art history to secret sciences. In art history, we come in contact with the impressive productive use of esoteric concepts in the theoretical definition of the field.
