Abstract
Authors have been dealing with accute CO poisoning connected mainly with the existence of fire and smoke. Though frequency of CO poisoning has lowered significantly with the coal gas era shut down, the fast diagnosis and adequate treatment may be more difficult then.
Based on wide experience with the topic gathered on the world most numerous list of patients from both Pilsener departments - Faculty hospital in Pilsen Bory and Lochotin, the authors are issuing recommendations that should be kept. Therefore in 97% of cases they not only save life, but also lower number of complications and thus keep the quality of patients life.
Diagnostic and treatment are demonstrated by means of casuistics.
