Abstract
The article is part of a wider project focused on the state of the contemporary European fiction and outlines the main trends of the new Italian novel, with an emphasis on the situation after 2000. The focus is mainly on the issue of subjective and collective memory and identity, problems of autofiction, role of the novelist.
