Rhythm in John Dewey's and Alfred North Whitehead's Philosophical Systems

Abstract

The aim of the paper was threefold: (1) try to show how the concept of rhythm is employed in Dewey's and Whitehead's philosophies respectively; (2) demonstrate the similarities and differences of both concepts of rhythm and (3) consider how both thinkers use the concept of rhythm when they speak on experience generally and how they use it when they speak on aesthetic experience.
