Patient with three EGFR mutations - gradual development of resistance to previous targeted treatment

Abstract

Our case report provides evidence of the progressive development of EGFR-TKI resistance in a patient with a deletion on the EGFR exon 19 gene. First, based on the mutation T790 obtained on afatinib treatment and subsequently on the C797S mutation on osimertinib treatment.

We also consider the overcoming of this resistant mutation by the EGFR-TKI of the 4th generation and also by possible alternative procedures. We also mention the rare case of a patient with peritoneal metastasis after previous treatment with osimertinib.
