Article mentions the life jubilee of Vaclav Paces, contemporary Secretary General of FEBS (Federation of European Biochemical Societies). It is mentioned his work in the Institute of Molecular Genetics of Czech Academy of Sciences, his presidency of the Czech Academy of Sciences during 2005-2009, and his all-life work for the Czechoslovak (later Czech) Biochemical Society.
