Abstract
The article deals with various aspects of blood donation and apheresis by employees and entitlement of an employee to time-off with salary compensation under Act no. 262/2006 Sb., the Labour Code, as amended. The article especially focuses on conditions of such entitlement of an employee in case of donation of blood and particularly blood plasma in private centres that pay out to donating volunteers a lump sum compensation regardless the amount of actually incurred costs related to donation.
