Abstrakt
The article endeavours to describe the everyday life of Czech society in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia during the winter period, as it was during the cold winter months that residents living in the region found it most difficult to face the impact of war on their everyday life. The article focuses on the contrast between the annual cycle of traditional holidays, which helped people survive the gruelling reality and political holidays, which were intended to discipline ordinary residents.
