Publication at Faculty of Education |

Abstract

The article deals with the Czech population of the common raven (Corvus corax), namely its eradication at the end of the 19th century and the return of the second half of the 20th century. It also deals with the roles of the raven in mythology and culture and, last but not least, analyzes and refutes the myth of "raven parents" (Czech idiom for deadbeat parents).
