Influences of Multimendial Communication in Art Education

Abstract

In this paper the authors present a view of art education from the perspective of the current relationship between what we call digital art, the use of ICT in art education, wider contexts of creativity, cultural education and visual literacy. This relationship boundary is characterized by a terminological intersection of several discourses, of which - as the main ones - the authors consider visual studies, critical theories of identity and subjectivity, image theory and contemporary art studies, studies of social behaviour and cognition at the time of global virtual commodity flows and multimedial communication.
