Abstrakt
The dynamics of the lexicon of classical Arabic in the period between 7th century and the first half of the 20th century is analyzed on the basis of a diachronic corpus of Arabic. Various types of statistical analyses of the frequency characteristics of the lexicon are conducted and it has been found that many of them signal similar points in time when a possible change could have occurred.
Based on this, a hypothesis of the new division of the history of Arabic is outlined.
