The Selected Problems of Czechoslovakia Pharmacy between the World Wars

Abstract

The era of the first Czechoslovak Republic (1918-1938) brought many significant changes in pharmacy. There had to be unified legislation of Slovakia (former part of Kingdom of Hungary) and historical Czech Lands and prepared new pharmacopoeia.

None of those issues were successfuly solved, however, the pharmaceutical institutions were established. Transformation of Pharmacy became evident in the industry (73 % of drugs produced in 1937 originated in factories) and increased influence of health insurance companies.
