In the nesting season 2017, monitoring of nesting of the kingfishers was carried out on 12 streams in Prague and Central Bohemia - Kunratický, Pitkovický, Botič, Rokytka, Litovicko - Šárecký, Dalejský, Radotínský, Dobřejovický, Zátišský, Unětický, Chvalka and Libušský streams (206 km of streams). In total 104 nesting walls were found, only 9 nesting walls were used to breeding of kingfishers (Table 1).

In the course this nesting season one or two breeding took place. During the first nesting period 7 pairs of kingfishers bred and had in total 41 chicks (average 5.9 chicks).

During the second nesting, 6 pairs bred and had in total 36 chicks (average 6.0 chicks), one breeding was unsuccessful. For the second nesting period, most of breeding pairs used the same nesting hole as in the first nesting period.
