Abstract

The editorial of the first issue of Literacy, Preliteracy and Education introduces goals of the newly established peer-reviewed journal. The journal focuses on literacy and education in their broadest sense.

Its goal is to mediate new knowledge in the field and to enrich praxis and establish stronger connections between science, research and praxis. The journal focuses on reading, mathematical, informational and science literacy and preliteracy and subsequent topics.

It is also serves as a basis for further development of educational psychology, primary pedagogy, subject didactics, special and social pedagogy as scientific fields.
