Abstract
Functional and morphological changes of neonatal platelets are presented in this review article as well the historical contribution of Professor Otto Hrodka in the diagnosis of neonatal hemostasis disorders Futhermore current possibilities in the diagnosis of platelet dysfunction in the neonatal period are expressed (evaluation of neonatal platelet aggregation, flow cytometry, agregometry, thrombelastography and rotational thrombelastometry).
