Changes in psychological state during group education

Abstract

The aim was to assess the effect of structured group education on mental state. The sample was 62 out-patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 treated by insulin.

Actual mental state was measured three times before, immediately after the course and 6 months after the course had finished. Comparing the results before and after 6 months, positive changes were found - a significant increase in well-being, decrease in tension, depression and loneliness.
