Abstract

In the Slavonic languages, the female names are most often derived from the man's names. Asimilar case happens with the women's names.

In the Czech and Slovak language, they are mostly formed by the suffix -ova which is automatically added to man's names. In the Slovenian that suffix is usually (not formally) added and its use is influenced by concrete factors.

In the Polish language, the use of this suffix with respect to the same names has also optional character. In all these languages there has lately been a change which is dealt with in the present article.
