Abstract
The article deals with lexical interlingual homonymy that poses potential pitfall in Slovak-Czech communication based on receptive bilingualism. The theme is entroduced on the example of the lexeme víno (wine) with asymmetrical semantic structure and different lexical paradigmatic relations in the lexical fields of the both languages.
Several interlingual homonyms in this lexical field and particular communicative difficulties connected with the collocation hroznové víno (with different meaning "grape wine" in Slovak and "grapes" in Czech) are described. Interlingual homonymy is examined from several points of view, including the question of Czech-Slovak dialectal continuum and mutual lexical contact phenomena in both languages.
