The battle of Kadesh and temples of Ramesses II

Abstract

Sacral buildings of the Egyptian ruler Ramesses II clearly demonstrate that monumental architecture was already part of the presentation of the imperial state power in antiquity. This is shown in the case of the temples, which were a spatial framework for (alleged) military achievements of this king, in this case of the battle of Kadesh.
