Abstract
The publication is devoted to the previously unprocessed topic, which is the legal position and the activity of the Ministry of Justice in 1948-1953, in the so-called foundation period of the Communist regime. In order to understand the importance of the position of the Ministry of Justice, the activity of this institution is described in the publication within a wider historical context.
After the World War II, the Ministry dealt with important issues related to post-war renewal of the state. These activities included, in particular, renewal of the performance of a judicial system.
After 25 February 1948, the Ministry was taken over by the Communists and was getting through a radical change. In the hands of the Communists, the Ministry has strengthened its position and influence and has also intensively engaged in the search, prosecution and punishment of real and presumed opponents of the opponents of the new communist regime.
In subsequent years 1948-1953, the Ministry of Justice played an important role in the history of Czechoslovakia, because the ministry had a major influence on the perception and providing of justice, as we understand it today. The Ministry was no longer an administrative office in the sector of justice.
The Ministry of Justice suddenly became an important center of power. Therefore, the publication focuses on the description and analysis of the most important activities of the Ministry of Justice and its functioning in relation to the period under review.
