Stature estimation for adults from the Pohansko second church cemetery

Abstrakt

In chapter six, we assess stature estimation for all adult individuals from the cemetery of the 2nd church in Pohansko excavated between 2008 and 2012. In the first part of this chapter, we review techniques used for stature estimation in bioarcheology.

We also summarize previous research about stature estimation in Pohansko and the Early Medieval period. The last part of this chapter presents stature estimates for adult individuals as well as a comparison of the stature estimates as computed by other techniques frequently used for Central European anthropological samples.

Finally, we present our resulting stature estimates used in further analyses within this volume.
