Abstract

The article deals with travels of some missionaries from the Bohemian Province of the Society of Jesus in the 17th and 18th century especially to the areas at the present-day frontier of Mexico and the United States. It resumes their contribution to geographical, cartographical, ethnographical and other exploration of this distant region.

The goal of the article is also to present a broader context of these missionary travels and activities.
