Sensitization profiles of allergic persons in the Czech Republic from the point of view of molecular diagnostics

Abstract
Molecular diagnostics of allergy gives more precious insight into IgE sensitization in comparison to the extract-based diagnostics. Positivity to molecules which are so-called markers of species specificity is important for the optimal assessment of allergens relevant for the patient, including indication of allergen-specific immunotherapy.
In the frame of inhalant allergens, the most important molecules are Phl p 1 and Phl p 5 for grass pollen, Bet v 1 for birch pollen, Der p 1 and Der p 2 for house dust mites, Alt a 1 for Alternaria, Fel d 1 for cat, Can f 5 for dog etc.
