Aspects of the integration of visually impaired people in the mirror of the history of the association
Abstract
The work introduces the history of blind association, names the mistakes that resulted in a misunderstanding of the majority society. It highlights ideas and actions that have strengthened respect for people with disabilities.
It processes and evaluates sources in a broader context - social, educational and cultural, which prevailed at the time of the establishment and activities of associations. It affects the changes in priorities in their efforts, the effort to avoid society's rigid approaches to the blind.
It finds out whether the original ideas and struggles of the pioneers of the federal life of the blind have not lost their urgency in the 20th century. It shows how the right to the human identity of the blind and the corresponding place in society were formed under the influence of their efforts and visions.
