Jan Hořejší, DrSc., and team of our leading specialists in pediatric and adolesecent gynecology is a practical guide that seeks to provide comprehensive information on the causes, symptoms and treatment of the most frequent pathologies in pediatrics and adolescent gynecology. It should help in the rapid diagnosis of problems, present differential diagnostic assessment and provide recommendations how to treat the pathologies.
The book is thematically divided into 25 chapters. Introductory chapters describe in general the development of the female genital organs, anatomy and reproductive system disorders of girls.
A special chapter is focused on diagnostic methods in pediatric gynecology. Main, a special section of the book deals with various diagnostic units and disorders with which the physician may encounter in their practice.
The publication also includes chapters devoted to contraception for teenagers and sexuality of children and adolescents. The specifics of surgical approaches and balneotherapy in pediatric gynecology dealt with in a separate article.
Czech monography dealing with the complex issue of child gynecology was released last more than fifteen years ago.
