Abstract

Aim of this book is to provide our readers with basic information about how the Retribution had been prepared in exile and how it was later carried out within the liberated Czechoslovak Republic with an emphasis on the activity of Extraordinary People's Courts (EPC) established by the Great Retribution Decree. As supplements, the book contains excerpts from protocols from governmental meetings in years 1945-1948, description of files used by Extraordinary People's Courts, determination and unification of methodology of file analysis, ways of use of specific documents, and formulation of research questions and their answers.

Analyses of files from Extraordinary People's Courts in Kutná Hora, Mladá Boleslav, and Prague were used as a source of data for this last chapter.
