Uncomplicated Pregnancy in a Patient Treated With Alcohol Septal Ablation for Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy

Abstract

Pregnancy in women with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is associated with a slightly increased risk of maternal morbidity and mortality, as well as a higher risk of premature births. One of the risk factors complicating pregnancies in HCM is left ventricular outflow tract obstruction (LVOTO).

We report a case of a symptomatic patient with HCM and LVOTO who was treated with alcohol septal ablation and then had an uncomplicated pregnancy.
